Content Specialist II – Site Support Specialist

Will support the Property Management Dept. in assessing and scheduling of the maintenance needs of residential and commercial rental properties. This position will require shared responsibilities of on-call and after-hours emergency calls, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidate must have transportation and possess a valid driver’s license, be knowledgeable of basic building maintenance, repairs and supplies, have above-average written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate and coordinate amicably and effectively with vendors, co-workers and tenants, be a self-starter and be able to follow processes and directions, answer calls and texts, schedule inspections, maintenance, and other appointments with tenants and contractors. Candidate will be required to learn and utilize Agency software applications and systems, prepare P.O.’s and process invoices for payment. utilize Excel spreadsheets for data entry and management, maintain spreadsheets and use Word for document preparation, be able to use office machines (i.e., copier, scanner, calculator) and collect rents and issue receipts. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Office Suite preferred.
 
This is a full-time position with full agency benefits, including holidays, paid vacation and sick leave, insurance and Maryland State pension. Wages start at $14.73 per hour. Basic work hours are 8:30 – 4:30 M-F. All new employees are required to comply with the vaccination requirements outlined in GCCAC’s Mandatory Vaccination Policy as soon as practicable and as a condition of employment. The policy also allows exemptions centered on medical conditions for which vaccines are contraindicated or religious beliefs, observances, or practices. Weatherization Installation - Crew Leader
 
Garrett County Community Action Committee Inc. currently has a position opening for a Weatherization Installation Crew Leader, Content Specialist 1, in the Service Coordination Division.
 
This position is responsible for supervising the weatherization installation crew for qualifying homes as part of the Weatherization Assistance Program. A successful candidate must have significant trades experience, especially experience with general carpentry. Experience with general electrical is a plus. The position will require the employee to acquire the BPI Weatherization Crew Leader and Weatherization Retrofit Installer Certifications immediately upon hire. All cost associated with obtained certifications will be paid for by GCCAC. Approximately 90% of this position will be in the field, conducting installations of weatherization measures, which may require climbing, working in crawlspaces, attics, or other confined areas, and the need to lift and move 50 pounds or more regularly. This position occasionally requires outside work in inclement weather. As this position requires direct contact with the public, excellent communication skills are necessary, and the ability to supervise other workers, organize a jobsite and the ability to multitask.

Qualifications/Requirements

BS Degree plus 5 years’ experience, or AA degree plus 7 years’ experience, or High School Diploma with relevant certifications plus five years’ experience. Special consideration will be given for any licenses or certifications already acquired. This position requires some computer proficiency, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage in physical labor. A criminal background check is required. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Substitute Receptionist (Admin Support)

Garrett County Community Action Committee, Inc., is accepting applications for Substitute Admin Support Receptionist. This position is responsible for answering all incoming calls to the agency and connecting the caller to the correct department. Documents and scans all press information regarding the agency as well as scanning other agency documents as needed for electronic document management. Assists other departments as needed with typing. Helps visitors to the agency get to the correct area. Collect rent payments for Property Management Department.
 
Position Requirements: Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with a wide variety of people, and knowledge of programs. Education and Experience: Must be comfortable with computers, databases, Excel and Word. Starting amount is $11.75 per hour.
